Oh dear Christmas tree,

thank you so much for letting Ben and Hannah pick you in the Christmas tree lot today. Thanks for letting them carry you on their shoulders and bring you home. We are so blessed to have you in our lives now and since we've known you, you've made everything better......even though the humidity in our house went up a few percent, the electricity we consume has gone higher, but it is all worth it even though tree needles are everywhere we still appreciate your company. Oh dear Christmas tree, we love your smell, your charisma, the ambiance you bring to our super vibrant living room. Welcome home and bless you for your beauty and the warmth you shine in our hearts. In memory of Dixie

Dixie was the perfect dog anyone could ever wish to have. She was my best friend, my family's best friend. She spent almost 14 years loving us and living in our little house in Pintendre, Quebec. She was amazing....so faithful to all of us. She waited for my whole family to be reunited last month in Quebec, and then she decided it was time for her to leave us, to leave life. So sad :( I am just so thankful I could be there for her when she needed me. Her liver had stopped working and her skin had turned yellow....she would not eat anymore....could not keep in anything... she was skin and bones. It wasn't an easy decision but we called the vet on that Thursday and made an appointment for her. It seemed like all day she knew it was coming and it seemed like she was just waiting for us to take her to the vet's office. It's sad but true. When we got to the office, she actually dragged us inside the building which is weird since she was always scared of that place. She was just ready to go....she was in such pain inside I believe. She did an amazing job and we (my mom, step dad, my 2 brothers and I ) were all in the office with her, petting her, and talking to her as her soul was leaving her body. Dixie left on May 19th at 4:25pm and I will always remember her..... Forever.

Amazing day at the zoo with Chris and Sarah!!!

We first met with Chris and Sarah at their house and then all got in one car and drove to downtown Portland for some delicious food. Hawaiian food was really yummy but I felt terrible after finishing up my whole container of yakisoba and chicken noodle. It was worth it though :) Sarah got the exact same and ate all of hers also. Ben got a Greek kind of burrito and Chris enjoyed some delicious Vietnamese cuisine which looked really yummy as well. YummY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Full and satisfied, we headed to the zoo!!! I was so egg salad(excited)! I've never really been to the zoo before so this was a first for me! I wanna go back everyday now! Yay!!!!! ! It was amazing to see so many great animals and species. The lion was the best!!! Such a gorgeous animal. We walked around for 3 hours and saw so many many many many beautiful creatures............. :)

So, I've been thinking a lot lately and I've been trying to figure out how I can really push myself in life and how I can find my calling. Hard stuff!

So many questions to ask myself....What do I enjoy doing the most? What can I expect from doing this? How will I improve my life doing this? etc......

I really have a good idea of what I want to accomplish and what I need to do to get there. I want to make people feel good. I want to teach yoga, I want to teach anything that makes people feel

better. I've always wanted to have a career involving health, dieting, and helping people to get back on track after suffering from knee surgeries, car crashes, etc. I've always wanted to help people that are hurting everyday from bad backs, bad knees, bad everything. So I could become a lot of things haha! Physiotherapist, Yoga teacher, personal trainer....I mean there are a lot of different options in this world.

I really want to go to India though. It's becoming a dream and I really hope someday I will have the opportunity to visit that wonderful part of the world. I 'd really love to get a yoga certification there and enjoy all those curry dishes and amazing foods. Curry! Yum!!

I heard Goa is the place to go. I'm really starting to look into it. I need to start doing what I love so I start enjoying life to the fullest. I'm 25!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Really time to become what I want to be!

She's just the sweetest little puppy in the entire whole world. Decided to try out barrettes today and she just loved it. She's the best!

Ben and I have 7 more days of work before finishing packing for 2 extra days and then here we come to Oregon. We'll get to Philomath on Sunday the 29th around dinner time. Can't wait! I will hate the drive only because I hate sitting in a car for more than 2 hours. It's ok! Exciting times!!

The day has almost arrived and here we are now getting ready the last details. Leaving Aspen on Saturday, August 28th. I have to admit I've been kind of feeling sad about it, but I'm excited at the same time. Leaving so many nice people behind, and so many memories.

I can't wait to leave on the 28th. Looking forward to everything in Oregon. Can't wait to have a new little place to live. Tomorrow Ben and I are giving our 2 weeks notices to our bosses. I am really nervous about telling them tomorrow. They love me and I love them so much!

Sunday is my Birthday/our going away party and I can't wait to see everybody here for the last time until we come back to visit.

Here's our little puppy named Allie. She's a mix of Golden Retriever and Newfoundland. She'll get huge you would say? YES, I know! I had a Golden Retriever when I was a kid and always wanted to get another. And I thought right now would be a great time since it takes a lot of efforts and time to raise an awesome and well behaved dog. When having kids, it gets really hard to put all the attention recommended in a new puppy. So, great timing!

So I was working yesterday and saw those kids and their mother pushing that wagon around town filled with puppies. I had to get one!! And I did! Crazy!! Ben and I could not sleep at all last night..... Allie was really upset with losing her entire family and being in a new environment.

She is the cutest puppy ever!

Why Raw? Not only because it guarantees me optimum health like the 80 million species who eat only raw. Not because it's the last word in nutrition. Not for saving time or money, not for the endless energy it provides me, and not because it helps the planet because instead of discarding packaging, which creates trash, I discard seeds, which give life. No, not any of these reasons. So why raw? Taste and pleasure and only taste and pleasure.

So I love dehydrating all kinds of foods using my food dehydrator which removes moisture from food to aid in its preservation. A food dehydrator uses heat and air flow to reduce the water content of foods. Love it!

Today I decided to blog about food dehydration because I love eating 80 percent raw food every week. It gives me energy and makes me appreciate all the good foods God gave us.

Eating raw food is a lifestyle promoting the consumption of un-cooked, un-processed, and often organic foods as a large percentage of the diet. Raw foodists typically believe that the greater the percentage of raw food in the diet, the greater the health benefits. And I strongly believe it!

Starting Time: 11am

Starting all fresh
Blueberries, strawberries and 2 squash. Getting everything ready on trays

Time to make 90% raw cookies.
Only reason why I say 90 percent is that I use a tiny bit of unsweetened soy milk and 2 slices of black rye bread for the whole cookie recipe. Bread is cooked so not raw. Here's what I use for my 90 percent raw cookies then......

1/2 a cup of raw oatmeal
1 handful of raw almonds
1 handful of pitted fresh cherries
2 slices of black rye bread
1 handful of fresh blueberries
1/2 a cup of organic unsweetened soy milk
1/2 a cup of shredded organic coconut
Little agave nectar
Little olive oil

And I use my food processor to blend everything together. It's the best kitchen appliance anyone could have!!!

Cookie dough made....... time to make little cookie balls and shape them so they actually look like cookies. So here they are on the trays. Ready for dehydration!!!

Ready, set, go!!! Dehydrator just started a total of 24 hours dehydration process. Takes about 10 hours to dehydrate the squash and strawberries, 30 hours for blueberries and about 12 hours for the cookies to be ready. Gotta keep one eye on the clock :)

Just got back from work. It's 11:30 pm. Time to get the squash and strawberries out of the dehydrator. They are perfectly dry!! Bagged everything. By the way, dehydrated squash really do taste like chips. You can actually eat them with hummus or any kinds of dips. And the strawberries are perfect to had in your cereal in the morning.

11:30pm Blueberries still have like 18 hours to go, but they're starting to look good

The cookies are almost ready. 2 more hours!!

Crossfit 2 week challenge

So this week I took 3 crossfit classes with a personal trainer. 4 of us (people I work with) signed up for it. I first thought it wasn't gonna be that hard since I take 8 to 10 hot yoga classes a week (Bikram, power yoga and yin yoga). Well I was wrong!

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

Here's what this week's program looked like:

- Monday: 40 Push-Ups, 10 Standing Long Jumps, 40 Squats with Hands on your Hips; repeat circuit (15 minutes)

- Wednesday: 20 Pull-Ups, 20 Dumbbell Thrusters, 20 Overhead Squats, 10 Kettlebell Snatches (10 for each arm); repeat circuit. (15 minutes)

- Friday: 20 Burpies with Push-Ups, 40 Deadlifts, 20 Lunges with Arm Curls (20 for each leg), 20 Push Presses with Barbell; repeat circuit. (15 minutes)

Yes, it is only 15 minutes but INTENSE 15 minutes. The class is an hour long, and we practice the exercises for at least 30 minutes before doing the real workout to make sure we're doing it right. We also stretch after the workout.

Let me tell you Crossfit is INTENSE. First 2 days neither of us could actually sit down without almost crying of pain. I can't believe how hard it is! We've done 3 classes so far out of 6 and I really want to keep going after the challenge is over.

Crossfit is everywhere. Go Try it out!

Amazing yoga retreat in Tulum, mexico

2 weeks ago I got back from an amazing week spent in Tulum, Mexico. 20 of us gathered to practice Bikram yoga and Synergy everyday for 7 days. It was super to be able to just relax for a week surrounded by many friends that practice yoga here in Aspen with me everyday.

Synergy is a healing art that incorporates Thai massage, flying, and partner stretching. It inspires trust, playfulness, and communication. We all loved it!!

We had vegetarian food served at the hotel through the entire week. The meals were amazing. always 3 to 4 courses each meal, but small portions.

It was an amazing trip and I really want to be part of it again next year. I want Ben to come with me this time.

I love my brothers and sister, really love them. Living in Aspen is really amazing, but makes me realize I'm really far, FAR away from my Quebecoise Family. I had such a great childhood surrounded by them. Can't wait to see them in May. Ben has some great amazing pictures of his childhood as well.

I love the smile and the pure joy of life kids have. It's just so cute :)

Raw food diet

My 2 week Raw Food Diet Challenge

Thanksgiving being over, I decided to start a 2 week raw food diet which consists of a diet based on unprocessed and uncooked plant foods, such as fresh fruit and vegetables, sprouts, seeds, nuts, grains, beans, nuts, dried fruit, and seaweed. I'm almost done with my third day which was pretty easy.....well more than I thought. I just keep telling myself it isn't hard at all. Working at Bruneslleschi's makes it a little harder though with all those different smells in the air. Pizza and pasta sounds great to me right now!! Oh, I served Melanie Griffith yesterday afternoon and I felt really lucky once again :) Lance Armstrong was pretty amazing as well... I was asked to serve him about 5 weeks ago. Awesome! It's pretty amazing how celebrities are just like everybody else at the end.....Back to the main subject! hehe

What are the Benefits of the Raw Food Diet?

That diet has numerous health benefits, including:

Increased energy
Improved skin appearance
Better digestion
Weight loss
Reduced risk of heart disease

Let me tell you that the Raw Food Diet shows the results really fast when combined with Power and Bikram Yoga. So I told Ben I didn't wanna see the scale here for 2 weeks and he took the batteries out of that evil machine until Sunday, January 10th. It's alright, I'm just doing an experimentation on my own body. I don't have weight to lose, but I really needed to detox after our 2 week honeymoon and all the food we ate last week for the Holidays. Ben and I were on The Raw Food Diet last summer for about 2 months straight, and it felt awesome. It makes you feel so light and so great. It brightens your mind and your life, everything just becomes better. Something to try if you feel like it. Oh, wine is raw which makes everything better :)

Esak Garcia

So while we were in Boulder 2 months ago for the Yoga State Championship, Ben and I met the last year International yoga champion Esak Garcia and his wife. I was really amazed by what I saw that day!! :0 He's such the most amazing yogi ever!! His wife won the Championship in China a couple years ago. Just had a baby, and still looks perfection.....yoga transformed her body just like that!!....awesome!!

They are such a source of inspiration to me....it is just so incredible to see what people can do. Unbelievable.....I can't believe everything I saw that day....so many people going on stage to show what they could do! Even Ben and I were part of the competition.

Esak travels widely demonstrating the art of yoga, promoting yoga asana championships. Esak is married to Chau Kei Ngai, who was the 5th place International Ghosh Cup Champion in 2007 representing China. They live in Boulder, Colorado with their son Osiris. We actually met him too that day :) Here's the link if you are interested in seeing Esak and his pregnant wife doing some crazy yoga poses....it's pretty awesome looking. I can do a lot of those poses now even after only a year and an half of yoga practice......pretty incredible :)

I'm really interested in going to Bikram yoga Teacher Training! It's pretty much $15,000.00....that's way too much money!!! 9 weeks, 2 classes a day + 8 hours reading and learning everyday. If you look at the pictures, you can see how many people go every year. It's usually between 300 and 350 people. And there are 2 teacher trainings a year....They actually have to turn down a lot of people because there is a maximum people accepted. The Fall training has just started in Vegas.....a lot of people were really disappointed with the location this year. Vegas sucks for such a Yoga Teaching Program because it is usually right on the beach in Mexico, Hawaii.....but Vegas...Seriously?? It's the total desert!

I really want to have my own yoga studio soon....so I'll have to sacrifice a lot to realize my dreams right? That's what we have to do in life to get what we want: Sacrifices

We'll, I'm working on it harder and harder everyday of my life. I've been feeling really weak this week. Maybe I pushed myself to hard by doing 2 classes a day. Waking up at 6:30 am, so I could catch the 7 am and the 9am in the same day. I did yoga for 16 days straight.....23 classes in 16 days straight actually. I started taking 2 classes of power yoga every week also which are making my muscles hurt like hell.......I'm taking the day off tomorrow, and I'm working a double anyway!!!

Well, all I can say about Bikram yoga is that it is the best thing that has ever happened to me!! I lost 29 pounds in less than 3 years. I just LOVE it!! That's what I wanna do of my life.....God bless you Bikram Yoga!! You're my life saver....BIG TIME!

Italian restaurant called: L' hostaria. It was Ben's treat......so fabulously awesomely good!! Thanks babe!

Mark and Jo gave me tons of gifts for my birthday, and let me tell you that I fell in love with a pair of beautiful earrings!! I love them :) Thanks maman et papa Dorr :)

Rocky Mountain camping trip

So last week, Ben and I decided to go camping in the Rockies for the weekend. So, since I was working all day and all night Friday, Ben got pretty much everything ready for the trip. He's so great!!

We were supposed to leave right after the 7 am yoga class on Saturday...so, around 10 am, but Ben was invited to go golfing with uncle John, his brother Dave and Eric. I let him go for sure. I went to bed at 1:30 on Friday night so I could use a little more sleep.....so I woke up at 9:30 am and did the 10 am yoga class instead. It felt amazing like always.

I showered and got all my stuff ready before Ben got back home around 12:30. And we finally left the house. Cody was so excited to get in the truck not knowing where we were headed. It took us about 2 hours to get on top of the mountain , which was about the altitude of the tree line, which means where the trees don't grow because it's too high in elevation.

We went on a hike and Ben showed me around......we even discovered an old cabin. We could actually open the door and get inside. It was kinda gross in there!! 3 old beds were just decomposing in dust.....we thought hunters used to sleep in there maybe 25 or 50 years ago.

Anyway, after getting sunburned and after a little sweating, we headed to the camp area we had picked earlier and set up the tent and everything we needed. Took us 5 minutes! :) Then a number 2 was coming up, so for the first time I had to poop in a hole and then cover the whole thing with dirt!!! Ewww!! Ben said it was a safety thing all campers had to do so the bears would not come kill us. And YES, Ben dug the hole for me....hehe

So, at night, we made a fire and cooked up some food......there were so many mosquitos.....it was awful! I'm not scared of them, but I hate them......Cody was also trying to eat some.....he killed some butterflies and moths.....and of course he ate them. Good for him - lots of protein.

Eventually, we went to bed and slept horrible......shoulders, backs, everything was hurting since we didn't have a good mattress! Plus, it was awfully cold, so we didn't sleep much! We woke up, packed up everything again and started heading home. We pretty much wanted to sleep in our bed. I needed to sleep a couple hours since I was working a night shift on Sunday.

I would do it again, but next time we'll make sure we have all the materials needed to sleep tight :)

SO, I just got back from a 2 week trip in Quebec......which was so GREAT!! Ben got to be with me for the first part of the trip, and then I spent the rest of the time alone with my family. It was great to see everybody after an entire year living here in Aspen.

We got to see my dad, who I haven't seen in more than 5 years. We talked for a couple hours and it was a very positive experience. The same weekend, we all drove to Pohenegamook, the town I was raised in until about 5 years old. That was also nice because I got to see some more family including my grandparents.

All good things come to an END!!!

Now I'm back to RAINY Aspen, but I'm back with my wonderful, amazing, awesome, handsome fiance!!! Rrrrrrrrrrrrr :)

When I got here last night, I was really surprised because Ben got me flowers and redecorated the appartment!!!! So nice!!

Just Another Day on the Job.......

So I was at work today on a remodel near Aspen Mountain when we noticed a bear climbing the neighbor's roof (pictured above). The bear then climbed down, went to the backyard, knocked over the bird feeder and began searching for other sources of food. I was a little nervous but I decided I should get as close as possible for a good picture. How could I lose? If I get close and survive, I have great pictures of a wild bear... If the bear feels cornered and attacks and kills me... then I got killed by a wild bear... good way to go. So the bear didn't kill me and allowed me within about 20 feet for these great pics. I think I'm done encountering bears for a while... at least until hunting season.

So this morning something quite strange happened. We slept in until about 10:30... just a lazy Saturday. I woke up and went into the kitchen for a glass of juice. I stood there, pretty much naked, and noticed something odd... someone was sleeping on our couch! We had been at a party the night before until about midnight, but hadn't offered our couch to anyone. My uncle Doug had been at the party too and at first I thought it was him... just wanting to crash so he wouldn't have to drive home tipsy. So I went back in the bedroom to tell Christine, who was basically still asleep... here's the dialogue:

Ben: "uhh... baby, there's someone on our couch."

Christine: (slightly annoyed) "shut up"

Ben: "no seriously, there's a dude asleep on our couch!"

Christine: "really???"

Ben: "yeah... who could it be"

Christine: "I don't know... maybe Doug?"

Ben and Christine get up and cautiously look at the person from a distance

Christine: "I don't think it's Doug... his legs are too small!" (Doug has massive thighs)

So Christine hides in the bedroom while I do what a real man would do... I put my hunting knife in my pocket and approach the stranger passed out on my sofa. I tap him on the shoulder... nothing happens... I tap him harder... still nothing. I'm trying to keep my distance at the same time because I don't know how he will wake up and by this time I can also tell that there is an obvious odor coming from his body that can only be described as stale feces. Finally he looks up with a very tired, dazed, and confused look.

Ben: "Who the heck are you?" (at this point I realize he is a complete and total stranger)

Stranger: "Whaaa... where.... uhhh?"

Ben: (trying to talk sternly and also trying not to breathe in the unbelievably bad stench) "What the hell are you doing here?"

Stranger: (groggy and with a thick accent) "Where am I?"

Ben: "You're in my apartment! How did you get in here?"

Stranger: (in broken English) "Uhh... I don't know. I party last night and need place to sleep"

He starts getting off the couch. At this point I realize who he reminds me of... he looks just like the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. His accent is obviously Middle-Eastern. He's wearing his jeans and an old Adidas jacket. He can tell I'm pissed and doesn't say much else before leaving. He walked out the door, closed it behind him, and then Christine came out of the bedroom and we looked at each other in disbelief.

Who was that guy? What made him think he could just break into our apartment and sleep? When did he come in? Why hadn't Cody barked at him? We had a lot of questions. We hadn't finished processing this information before the door opened and it was the same guy. He had forgotten his cell phone. He looked all over but couldn't find it. So I called his number, hoping that we could hear the ring and find it. We heard it, but it wasn't coming from our apartment. It came from the laundry room out in the hallway. He went out and found his phone, looking extremely confused as to how it got there. He apologized and left again.

And that's the story of the Arab intruder who slept the night on our couch. (and we washed the blanket that he had used to remove the poopy smell)

Yes....Ben proposed in front of 200 people.....ONLY 200 people....hehe.

I was so nervous, shaking and everything, I almost passed out right in front of everybody. Would have been pretty funny.

So yes, we are gonna get married....WOOHOO!!!

We had such a great time with Doug's family on Christmas Eve. The kids are getting so much bigger and they are so cute.

Stephan and Jen were there as well with little Cecelia. Stephan played some songs for us ...he's such an amazing singer.

When I was about 7 years old, something funny happened.

I was staying at my grand-mother's for the weekend and one night, right after dinner, my 2 brothers, my sister and I decided to watch a movie in the living room.

It was kinda chilly outside and I NEEDED a blanket. My lovely grand-mother brought me a white blanket which had some blue stripes as well on it. Then, I put it on my head and the party started. It was a PARTY OF LAUGHS.

Everybody was laughing so hard because I looked like **Mere Theresa** like we say in FRENCH. My grand-maman even peed her pants....I remember that......GREAT MEMORIES........

Ben and I just came back from an amazing trip in Oregon!!! We had so much fun and great time with everybody. I met awesome people and I'm so happy to have finally met everyone.......Good memories
